Zelensky Tells US Lawmakers Washington Has Yet to Explain Starlink Limits, Missed Missile Warnings
Speaking during a virtual meeting on Monday, Oct. 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky told a bipartisan group of US lawmakers that Washington has yet to explain the Starlink speed limits or the missing warnings of Russian ballistic missile attacks, Kyiv Post reports. On the same day, he met with a team from US defense company Lockheed Martin in Kyiv, as Ukraine seeks more Patriot interceptors that it has reportedly run out of.
Why it matters
The report indicates Ukraine is seeking answers from Washington on Starlink restrictions and missile warning gaps, while separately pressing a US defense contractor for Patriot interceptors it has reportedly exhausted.
What's unclear
- What specific Starlink speed limits are at issue and who imposed them
- Which missile attacks lacked warnings and why the warnings were missed
- Whether the reported Patriot interceptor shortage has been confirmed beyond the report's wording
