Iran's retaliation for U.S. and Israeli strikes has fallen heavily on the countries that host U.S. forces. Since August 30, 2026 IRGC operations have been reported against the King Hussein and Al-Azraq air bases in Jordan (13 ballistic missiles detected on September 1, 10 intercepted, according to Jordan's military), a base in the UAE (a drone intercepted on August 31), a base in Bahrain (drones intercepted on September 1) and — per IRGC claims on September 2 — the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait and U.S. facilities in Erbil, Iraq. Jordan reported no casualties; the UAE called the attacks a direct threat to its security. Every report on this page carries its source and the interception status that source gave. The newest reports are in the Iran war live updates.
In public reporting Kuwait is the Gulf state struck most often. That reporting lists drone and missile attacks on Ali Al Salem Air Base and Kuwait International Airport from the first day of the war (February 28), on Camp Buehring and an operations centre near Port Shuaiba on March 1 (where six U.S. soldiers were reported killed), on the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery on March 19–20, on power and desalination plants in April and on July 18, and a Shahed-136 drone strike on the airport's Terminal 1 on June 3. Kuwaiti authorities have reported intercepting numerous missiles and drones and, on May 1, capturing IRGC personnel who landed on Bubiyan Island.
Bahrain, home of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, reported a large drone-and-missile attack on the U.S. air base in the Sheikh Isa area at dawn on March 3 and intercepted Iranian drones again on September 1. In the UAE, Al Dhafra Air Base has been named as a target since March, Al Minhad Air Base near Dubai appears in tracked reports from August 31, and Emirati casualties over the course of the war include soldiers, a contractor and civilians according to figures compiled from official statements. Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. base in the region, was targeted in the March wave; Qatar has since been among the most active mediators alongside Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia has been hit at the margins: the crude carriers Sidr and Senegal Prosperity were struck in the Strait of Hormuz on August 31, and Riyadh has reported civilian deaths from earlier strikes. Oman, which controls the southern side of the strait, hosts the U.S.-backed transit corridor and reported attacks in the March wave. Jordan — not a Gulf state, but on the same target list — has intercepted repeated Iranian ballistic-missile salvos aimed at the King Hussein, Al-Azraq and Prince Hassan air bases, and footage circulated on September 1 of a missile impacting near Aqaba.
Which Gulf countries has Iran attacked? Public reporting since February 28, 2026 records Iranian missile and drone attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman, and on Jordan. Kuwait has been struck most often; Bahrain, the UAE and Jordan were targeted again on August 31–September 1 after the U.S. strike on Larak Island. Each map item links to the report it came from.
Is Kuwait being attacked by Iran right now? The IRGC claimed a missile-and-drone strike on the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait on September 2, 2026, following U.S. strikes on Iran the day before. Public reporting lists dozens of attacks on Kuwait since February; the tracker shows the newest reports with timestamps so you can judge what is current.
Why does Iran strike Jordan, Bahrain and the UAE? Because they host the U.S. forces that strike Iran: the IRGC has described its attacks on bases in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE as retaliation for U.S. strikes such as the August 30 attack on Larak Island. Reports on this page keep the source's attribution and do not independently establish responsibility.
Are US bases in the Gulf still being hit? Yes, as of September 2, 2026. Reported targets in the past week include the King Hussein and Al-Azraq bases in Jordan, a base in Bahrain, a base in the UAE, Ali Al Salem in Kuwait and U.S. facilities in Erbil, Iraq. Most missiles and drones were reported intercepted; the tracker records what each source said about damage.
